NABBED: Constable Mita Badi and Metro Police Constables Daniso and Moloi, with the foreign shop owner and the stack of confiscated counterfeit cigarettes.

A 35-YEAR-OLD foreign shop owner, from Palmridge, was arrested last week when he was found in possession of stacks of boxes of counterfeit cigarettes which were being sold cheaply to the public.

“We busted this man with the cigarettes to the value of R43 850 while busy with Operation Bumper to Bumper, which is aimed at crime prevention, law enforcement and checking on illegal immigrants,” said Constable Daniso of Metro Police.

All the counterfeit cigarettes were confiscated and a case was registered against the shop owner at Eden Park SAPS.
