Wallet thief didn’t see this coming

On the rainy day of January 7, I was running from my car towards the entrance of Newmarket Mall when I accidentally dropped my wallet containing all of my credit cards, store cards and driver’s licence. I tried retracing my steps but no hope was found.

After contacting the management office, where Joanna (manageress of Mall at Newmarket) took me to SOG’s on site security office, the security officer soon found the footage of the incident.

What I saw on the security footage was what looked like a couple that found my wallet and proceeded into the mall, probably to hand it in. Another man with his family witnessed the couple picking up the wallet and approached them by saying that the wallet was his. He then drove off with my wallet.

The security officer at Mall at Newmarket assured me that they would trace the culprit.

After a short while, Du Toit Lampbrecht (CEO of SOG) phoned me and told me that they had traced and contacted the person responsible and had gone to retrieve the stolen wallet.

The efficiency and helpfulness that you guys gave me is truly unbelievable. Thanks so much again for helping me with this. It would have been a nightmare trying to get replacements.

Forever Grateful
