Two cases linked to Ludi

THE Ludi Vink story has touched and saddened many people, especially those who knew him, who all attested to what a good man he really was.

It has come to the RECORD’s attention that, as a result of the incident leading up to the attack on Ludi, two additional cases of assault have been opened.

One case of assault was opened against five men after the incident took place on Tuesday, February 21.

Another case was opened about a week later. In this instance, the man in question has already appeared in the Palmridge Court – on Wednesday, March 8 after he was arrested on Monday, March 6.

This man came forward and spoke to the RECORD. He stated that he could not understand how he could have been arrested and that nothing was being done regarding the case he opened a week prior to the case against him.

“The police asked us to supply them with the (alleged) perpetrators’ names, ID numbers and license plate numbers of their cars, etc. They have not called any of the witnesses and they expect us to do their work for them, even though the police know exactly who they are,” a person close to the accused said.

The RECORD is awaiting comment from the Alberton SAPS (South African Police Service).
