THE police have arrested two suspects and seized a load of drugs after a suspicious vehicle was spotted and searched.

On Monday, March 13, the Ekurhuleni West Cluster Brackendowns SAPS task team members, constables Riaan Marais and Nazeer Salojee, conducted an intelligence-driven operation with the Community Policing Forum, Fox, D&D and Community Protection Services security companies.

While conducting a stop-and-search they noticed a suspicious vehicle (Hyundai i20) in sector one.

The vehicle was stopped on Yvonne Street, and while searching the car, they found packets of drugs, including 54 packets of cat, 28 packets of crystal meth and 18 packets of cocaine, all with an estimated street value of R15 000.

Both suspects (24) were charged with dealing in drugs and appeared at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, March 14.

The station commander of the Brackendowns SAPS, Colonel Cornelius van Vuuren, praised all members who were part of the special ops and thanked the CPF chairman and all the security companies that were involved.
