We are going backward

TWO months ago there was an article in the paper about prepaid meters which had many people up in arms. The fact is simple – we are paying for a service from the council to read our electricity and water each month, which is not happening.

New contractors were employed to do this but it is still not happening. Instead of going forward we are going backward. The council administration is costing us, as the rate payers, money for this malfunctioning system. Why must we give the council our money every month? So that our electricity and water accounts can be updated? This is once again poor service delivery.

The Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality (EMM) has not yet responded to this issue.
