Ekurhuleni municipality comments on call centre complaints

THE Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) has come under fire, as many people have found it impossible to reach anyone at the call centre.

In response to the complaints, Themba Gadebe, EMM spokesperson, says: “Our call centre sometimes experiences high call volumes and it takes more time to get to all the calls. But if residents feel they were ignored when they call[ed], they should report their frustrations via email.

“During those communications, we would appreciate if we can be provided with the relevant telephone numbers where the call was made so that we can investigate and give appropriate and proper feedback.

“Going forward, please note that there are other ways of contacting the call centre, including email: [email protected]; SMS: shortcode to 30788 – start the message with the prefix EMM followed by the actual query; Twitter handle: @EMM_Call Centre.”
