Comparing today’s youth with those of 1976

COMMEMORATION: Eden Park Victim Support Centre staff commemorate Youth Day. Monica Bluemeyer (co-ordinator), Tinyiko Mambane (social worker) and Merushka Bluemeyer (administrator).

Eden Park Police commemorated Youth Day on Friday, June 16. At the back of the premises, in a mobile office, the Eden Park Victim Support Centre staff were all dressed in school uniforms to commemorate the day.

The ladies mentioned how proud they were of the youth of 1976. According to them many youngsters are too involved with drugs.

“The 1976 youth left a legacy which should be followed by the youth of today. Instead of following in those footsteps, today’s youth often turn and make themselves slaves of drugs.

“We pray for our youth, especially those in Eden Park, that they abstain from drug abuse, get into rehabilitation and change their lives for the better. Our community will benefit from healthy youths,” said Monica Bluemeyer.
