Little ones ride bikes, bake sand biscuits

FUN: The little ones enjoyed every moment of their visit.

JUNIOR College Preschool Castillian’s recently hosted its annual sports day and their potty class won the prize for the most money collected with the sponsorship forms.

Their prize was a visit to the amazing Two Trees Bakery in Mulbarton. “The friendly staff greeted us at the door and the aroma of fresh bread gave everyone a healthy appetite for the chicken nuggets and chips that were to follow. The meal was swallowed down with delicious strawberry milkshake,” said Elizabeth Steenkamp, the principal.

FEAST: Children enjoying their food and milkshake.

The noises made by the love birds appealed to the children, who looked in awe at the colourful creatures. First to be tested were the plastic bikes all along the flagged trail. Next was the sand pit, where they baked sand biscuits. “Our whole class clambered onto the large hanging mat swing and their giggles echoed through the trees. Most of our young ones had their first ‘taste’ of a foofy slide while safely strapped into a chair.”

To end an amazing visit, the little ones enjoyed a tasty sweet platter of fudge, cupcakes and even meringues. After all the running and playing on the jungle gyms, everyone was happy and ready to head back to school for a well-deserved rest.

The school wishes to thank Two Trees Bakery for treating the children like royalty.
