Hudson Street house burgled

Burglar trying to pry open window of house.

A FAMILY living in Hudson Street left their house at 9pm to go out for the evening on Saturday, February 24. Nobody was left at home. When the family returned home after midnight, they discovered that their house had been broken into and numerous items stolen. The burglars entered the house by forcing a bedroom window open, leaving the burglar bars bent out of shape.

The owner, Lester William, told the Record that he is overwhelmed with anger and disappointment because the break-in has put him in a difficult position due to the fact that he works from home.

“I cannot work without a computer,” said Williams. “They stole my laptop which I rely on and is my source of income, DVDs, jewellery and sunglasses. Fortunately for us, they could not get our television off the bracket on the wall.”

A car radio and two speakers valued at R23100 were also stolen. A case of housebreaking and theft was opened at Eden Park SAPS and the police are investigating.
